The renowned Croatian architects 3LHD have designed another great project called House V which is a fancy family house. The House V is placed near to the Medvednica mountain in Zagreb (Croatia’s capital) and it was built as a perfect house which will “satisfy the needs of a family”. Nowadays one of the best ideas for design and architecture are inspired from “greenery”. The mankind has realized that we have no choice than to start building structures that are environmental-friendly. If you were thinking that it will be hard to bring cool ideas you were wrong because green could provide cool and futuristic features.

Kjellgren Kaminsky Architecture came up with the Passive Houses which they will unveil them at the Hem&Villa fair in Malmo, Sweden. These houses are made of massive walls meant to keep warm and windows that will distribute the heat all around the house. This technique was inspired from the native Americans who used it a few centuries ago.

The house that we bring you today was called Villa Atrium and it consists of a donut-like building and in the yard you will find a beautiful tree. The design of the Passive Homes combines the old with the modern in a very nice way and I expect them to become very popular among the house-builders.

There are innovative contructions that are gaining more and more popularity - they are called domes. These half-spheres( I couldn’t think of another comparison) had bravely resisted to hurricanes and other natural disasters. One of the most famous buildings like these was build by Canadian Dome Industries in Red Deer, Alberta.

Another very cool dome is the home of the School of Communication Arts in Raleigh, North Carolina and the special thing is that it consists of three two-story domes with a diameter of 120 foot.

This strange looking structures are also present in Colorade where you can find a 5,600 square foot complex of domes. The last dome that you don’t have to miss, it’s Florida’s luxurious dome which might be the house of the future. All of the domes are best pictured in the gallery below.
