Precinct 4 To Complete The Putrajaya Waterfront

Precinct 4

My favorite place in the world is Dubai because there you will find the most impressive structures. But there’s a country that likes to keep up with the latest architectural designs - Malaysia. Everybody heard about the Petronas Twin Towers, in Kuala Lumpur. A new project called Precinct 4 will be built in Putrajaya waterfront, about 30km of Kuala Lumpur.

Precinct 4

The Precinct 4 was designed by Studio Nicoletti Associati and Malaysian-based Hijjas Kasturi Associates, also responsible for the Putrajaya waterfront. Their idea was to design sustainable residential buildings destined to fit in well with the landscape and their inspiration came from a fleet of ships. The buildings will be powered using alternative energy and they will emit about 50 percent less CO2 than any other projects like this residential.

Almaty Towers Designed By Norman Foster - Tallest Buildings In Kazakhstan

Almaty Towers

Kazakhstan is establishing as a country with the most impressive architectural designs. Its capital, Astana, is the home of two astonishing buildings - the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation, and the Khan Shatyry Entertainment Center. Now, the financial capital and largest city called Almaty will feature a design signed by Sir Norman Foster, a renowned British architect.

The structure will consist of two towers and will be called Almaty Financial District Fosters Towers and will feature 48-stories. The twin towers will be completed in 2009 and with their 709 feet, will be the tallest buildings in Kazakhstan. Almaty Financial District Fosters Tower will provide space for offices, residential apartments and retail on lower stories.

The facades of the towers will be covered in glass and at the top of the tower you will find gardens destined as a relaxation space. For the moment there aren’t many information about the towers, but reports say that the Almaty Towers will be environmental friendly. Trump Tower Coming To Dubai Next Year

Trump Tower Dubai

Donald Trump is looking to make himself known in Dubai, that’s if those sheiks don’t have any business with The Trump Organization already. In the oil-country, Trump will have its own futuristic building called The Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower, but you could also name it Trump Tower Dubai.

The project started about two years ago, but the original design showed a golden tulip-like structure and I think that they made a good decision by changing it into a luxurious centerpiece of the Palm Golden Mile, situated in the Palm Jumeirah which is one of Dubai’s architectural masterpiece.

Trump Tower Dubai will consist of a five-star hotel and residence of 48 stories providing 300 rooms and 360 residential apartments for the tourists or some eccentric oil-tycoons. This amazing hotel will feature a yacht club, private beach, tennis courts, fitness center, pools and gardens.

The Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower will need an investment of about $600 million and most likely will become another show place in Dubai. The construction is scheduled for completion during 2009.

London’s Palestra Looks Great And It’s Green

London Palestra

London is the home of a structure with an astonishing design which is called Palestra. This building was developed by Alsop Architects and $120 million were necessary to finish the construction. At the beginning, the Palestra was destined to be the home of multiple companies but in the end only two settled there - the London Development Agency and the London Climate Change Agency.

The construction was finished in 2006 but six weeks after the unveiling, one of its component crashed and the wind turbines that were powering the building stopped working properly. The wind turbines are scheduled for replacement in the coming weeks and the designers are looking to implement fuel cell technology in order to power the entire building with renewable energy. I don’t know about you but I fell in love with this glass structure and you might do the same if you check out the gallery below.

Veg.itecture Designed By Ken Yeang

Zorlu Ecocity

This is one of the most interesting structure concept involving green buildings. This concept is called Veg.itecture and is based on vegetation as the primary component of a building. Until now it didn’t get too much attention, but Ken Yeang looks to change this situation. Ken is one of the most active promoters of this architecture and his designs are considered masterpieces.

Most of Ken’s buildings are bioclimatic skyscrapers but the technique is not very simple because the structures need sun alignment, adjustment to the climate conditions throughout the year and to make use of lighting and ventilation.

The skyscrapers look very good with the addition of vegetation and there are some other projects like the Zorlu Ecocity in Turkey. Check out the gallery below for more interesting structures.

Aurillac Venue Puts Up Indoor & Outdoor Shows

Aurillac Venue

French people in Aurillac are now having the occasion to admire one of the coolest event-space in the world. Designed by Londoner architects Brisac Gonzalez, the hall could be a venue for concerts, sport events, fairs and other social events. This space could hold about 4,500 people, but I know for sure that many of them will be attracted by the coating of changing lights. Every night on the outside, the building puts up an incredible lighting show. The color spectrum is provided by fluorescent lights along with color filters and it changes on and on during nights. If you want to see more of it, check out the gallery below.
