Eye-Catching Civil Court From Zaha Hadid
Pritzker Prize winning architect Zaha Hadid has another attractive project on her hands. The Civil Court from Madrid impresses through its flashy design, with an intriguing and intelligent façade. Made of metallic panels, this double-ventilated envelope is a dynamic component created to regulate the building’s indoor environment. Opening and closing, the façade has the role of controlling and moderating heating, cooling and ventilation.
The building will have 74,500 square meters (around 800,000 square feet) and will contain, basically, a spiraling semi-circular atrium and an interior public courtyard. Its design is meant to connect the building with the surrounding campus and attract visitors. Constructors have set a 2 years deadline for the completion of this beautiful Civil Court.
