Asymptote Designs Strata Tower For Abu Dhabi, UAE

A revolutionary architecture project has been unveiled for Abu Dhabi, UAE. A 40-story tower was designed by Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture from Asymptote and the construction will be completed by 2011. The tower will be called Strata Tower and will be 160 meters high.

Strata Tower will be the highest in the Al Dana precinct and it will represent an important part of Abu Dhabi’s future, probably it will influence the future projects in the region. The feature that impressed a lot of people, is the exoskeleton which gives that nice curvilinear form to the tower. Check out the pictures and say your opinion about this structure.

This tower is weirdly erotic and I love it

Can you furnish the details like main contractor, consultant, structural steel contractors etc.
Thanks

Yes, the images are sexy. BUT. don’t we think that the twisty DNA structure has becomr the “go-to” form for anything in Dubai….
Asymptote seems to pride themselves on being on the edge. Their work has become a bit of a “post paperless studio ala Columbia U” cliche.
Really, where is the creativity?
