Extremely Efficient Clean Technology Tower To Be Built In Chicago

Clean Technology Tower

A new super structure is going to be built in Chicago and along with it’s futuristic design and big size, it will be very efficient and environmental-friendly. The Clean Technology Tower will capture wind using turbines positioned at it’s corners. The wind accelerates around the tower, so the turbines will have an increased efficiency.

On the roof it will be placed a double cavity to direct the wind, that reaches a maximum speed to an array of wind turbines to generate power. Also the ventilation is made by the negative pressure created by the turbine, to take advantage of everything and decrease as much as possible the non-renewable-power consumption. Also the roof is covered with solar cells and captures the solar rays.

The huge building includes a 300,000 square foot hotel, 1.8 million square feet of office space, a street-level retail and a spa. It was designed by the company that also designed the Masdar Headquarters, Adrian Smith and Gordon Gill.

Trump Tower Coming To Dubai Next Year

Trump Tower Dubai

Donald Trump is looking to make himself known in Dubai, that’s if those sheiks don’t have any business with The Trump Organization already. In the oil-country, Trump will have its own futuristic building called The Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower, but you could also name it Trump Tower Dubai.

The project started about two years ago, but the original design showed a golden tulip-like structure and I think that they made a good decision by changing it into a luxurious centerpiece of the Palm Golden Mile, situated in the Palm Jumeirah which is one of Dubai’s architectural masterpiece.

Trump Tower Dubai will consist of a five-star hotel and residence of 48 stories providing 300 rooms and 360 residential apartments for the tourists or some eccentric oil-tycoons. This amazing hotel will feature a yacht club, private beach, tennis courts, fitness center, pools and gardens.

The Palm Trump International Hotel and Tower will need an investment of about $600 million and most likely will become another show place in Dubai. The construction is scheduled for completion during 2009.

Eiffel Tower Will Be Upgraded With A Kevlar-Deck

Eiffel Tower Kevlar-Deck

The Eiffel Tower is one of the most renowned structure in thw world. It was designed by Gustave Eiffel and its construction is the same as it was about 120 years ago when it was finished. In order to celebrate properly the 12oth anniversary, an architecture company called Serero will update the Eiffel Tower and will “decorate” it with a temporary carbon-kevlar deck.

This upgrade will double the space-floor of Eiffel’s top and will not change in any other way the design of the original structure. What I do not understand is why this is only temporary because it looks great and it could attract even more tourists. It’s their call.

Pritzker Prize winning architect Zaha Hadid has another attractive project on her hands. The Civil Court from Madrid impresses through its flashy design, with an intriguing and intelligent façade. Made of metallic panels, this double-ventilated envelope is a dynamic component created to regulate the building’s indoor environment. Opening and closing, the façade has the role of controlling and moderating heating, cooling and ventilation.

The building will have 74,500 square meters (around 800,000 square feet) and will contain, basically, a spiraling semi-circular atrium and an interior public courtyard. Its design is meant to connect the building with the surrounding campus and attract visitors. Constructors have set a 2 years deadline for the completion of this beautiful Civil Court.
