Orquideorama - The Futuristic Botanical Garden

Orquideorama

I never would have thought that one of the most interesting structure designs could be a botanical garden. I am talking about the botanical garden in Medellin, Colombia which was re-designed by the Plan B Architects. Their new built contruction is called Orquideorama and it consists of metal and steel flower-tree structures with a hexagonal-organic shape.

The architects who designed the Orquideograma are Felipe Mesa and Alejandro Bernal and their idea was to build interconnected modular structures and as we said, with a hexagonal-organic structure and what’s better than honeycombs?

UFO Home Sold For $135 K

UFO house

A house in the form of a space-ship was sold this week-end in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It has three bedrooms, six “landing gear” legs, square little windows and a retractable staircase, which, as one of the neighbors says, can come quite handy in disputes between spouses. He declared that one of the former owners pulled up the stairway and drove her husband’s truck underneath it. Her husband got stuck inside, as he couldn`t lower the stairs and exit.

Auctioneer Terry Posey seemed surprised that bidding for the 38-year-old house didn’t go higher, as the building attracted worldwide attention.

The person that won the auction is Pearl Johnson from Cincinnati, Ohio, and she declined to comment on her newest acquisition.

Superficial - The Mirrored Rock From The Woods

Superficial Mirror Rock

This mirror rock sculpture, placed deep in the woods could prove very scary, especially at dawn if you have no idea about it and that is placed there. The French artist Michel de Broin has done a great job with the so called Superficial sculpture, that reflects everything near it.

On Michel’s official website you can read his thought about this strange and interesting sculpture: “Upon invitation to reflect on the notion of transparency, that led me into the forest to envelop the contour of a large stone with fragments of mirror.  The large stone, tucked away deep in the woods, became a reflective surface for its surroundings.  In this play of splintered radiance, the rock disappears in its reflections. Because it reflects one cannot be mislead by its presence, yet we cannot seize it, rather it is the rock that reflects us.”
